Module 1 has been designed, to be a two-day practical workshop where you will learn some of the professional secrets of screen acting by working on scenes from familiar TV dramas and watching DVD examples of famous actors showing how it’s really done.
Patrick’s most recent success is David Lawrence who applied Patrick’s techniques to his successful audition for ‘Heroes’ (he plays Eric Doyle, the Puppet Master). Extra notes and advice from Patrick over the telephone before the shoot resulted in David’s initial one episode casting being extended to nine further episodes – with even more to come!
Course Outline:
The weekend workshop exercises demonstrate how screen acting is not what it seems. It is not ‘truthful’, or how we behave in real life. It is a unique craft and needs practise to get used to such problems as how to cheat props into the frame, how to adjust performance to shot size or which voice level to use for different takes.
At the end of the first day each participant will be given a script to learn overnight, and the following day you will get on screen, put into practice what you have been taught and learn from the results.
Patrick Tucker is an internationally acclaimed screen acting coach with over 150 screen drama credits and the author of seven books, including the award-winning ‘Secrets of Screen Acting’ (now in its 2nd edition) and ‘The Actors Survival Handbook’.
