We were extremely pleased to welcome director George Amponsah to the School last night for a screening of his documentary The Hard Stop and a post-screening Q&A.

The Hard Stop is a documentary about the friends and family of Mark Duggan, the man shot twice by London police whose death prompted the start of rioting across the UK. The film follows two of his friends in particular - Marcus and Kurtis - as they seek justice for Mark, and try to get on with their daily lives in the aftermath.

George talked to students about the conception of the project, how to direct when responding to changing circumstances around you, budgets, and the development of a feature score.

Thanks to George for his time and willingness to share his insights!
