After undertaking an extensive search for our ‘forever home’, Central Film School moved to its current campus in 2022.
Occupying a former 19th-century music hall nestled between Brixton and Clapham North, our premises provide students with everything they need to bring their stories to life.
Boasting an expansive area of 15,500 square feet, our campus offers an impressive array of amenities, carefully designed to cater to the needs of our students and wider academic community
Central Film School strongly encourages students to develop their personal projects and allows students to borrow the school’s equipment during and after their studies.
These include:
• Two ample studio spaces
• Screening facilities with seating for 90+ students
• Virtual production wall
• Kit and prop rooms
• Edit suite
• Dedicated post-production zone
• Student common room
• Bertha Dochouse archive and library
• Bright and versatile teaching spaces
Our Studios
At Central Film School we have two professional studios.
Studio A, our largest studio, also serves as a screening theatre with retractable seating and is home to our state-of-the-art Virtual Production Wall. This cutting-edge facility, powered by advanced LED volume and real-time rendering technology, pushes the boundaries of creative storytelling. It gives students unparalleled opportunities to craft immersive, visually striking narratives.

Studio B offers full Motion Capture technology, giving students hands-on experience that empowers them to create realistic, dynamic characters. This training also prepares them for the evolving landscape of the entertainment industry, where motion capture plays a pivotal role.
Both studios are fully equipped to transform into whatever the script demands, while housing cutting-edge technology that empowers students to expand their stories into the virtual world, bridging the gap between traditional filmmaking and digital innovation.

Kit & Equipment
We have a range of cameras for our students to use depending on their needs and expertise. Starting with the BlackMagic 6K Cinema Camera, students progress to advanced cameras like the BlackMagic Ursa 12K Cinema Camera, and the Arri ALEXA - BA Practical Filmmaking students have the opportunity to use the ARRI SRIII Super 16mm.
We offer comprehensive training on a range of sound and lighting kits, fostering cohesive crew operation throughout productions.

Bertha Dochouse Archive and Library
Through our partnership with Bertha DocHouse, the UK’s first dedicated documentary cinema, CFS hosts a curated archive of documentary DVDs, filmed Q&As and more in our newly refurbished library.
It's a dedicated on campus resource to fuel your research, pitching and practice while at Central Film School.
Post-Production Zone
Our Post-Production Zone was fully upgraded in 2023 to reflect the latest industry standards and workflows. It provides everything you need to take your projects from start to screen all in one place. With dedicated edit bays, a professional colour grading suite, animation facilities and a sound recording studio, you’ll have access to the same tools and technology used in professional post houses. Whether you’re editing short films, experimenting with VFX, building animation, or mixing immersive sound, the Post-Production Zone is designed to support your learning and help you develop the skills to work confidently in real-world production environments.
