Student Support
Student Counselling
Our free, in-house counselling service is available for all students enrolled with Central Film School. Students can use the service to discuss and share anything affecting their studies, general wellbeing or life outside of their schoolwork with a professionally qualified counsellor in a quiet, confidential and non-judgmental space.
To access counselling, no ‘third party’ referral is necessary - a student can apply directly, and in confidence, to the service. Any student unsure about what counselling is or whether it would suit them, is welcome to request an informal chat with our counsellor or send an email to counsellor@centralfilmschool.com with their queries.
Students can choose to meet in person, online via Google Meet or by phone and we strive to fit appointment times around class and project-work schedules.
You can access more information, advice and find the booking form on the Student Experience Hub here.
Accessibility
We believe that all students should have equal access to their course, facilities and resources during their studies with us and we are committed to helping those students with a wide range of needs and disabilities.
During the admissions process, enrollment and registration, you will be asked to disclose disability or support needs so any necessary adjustments can be made before you start your studies with us. You can also do this at any point during your time at CFS by submitting a Student Support Plan Form.
Once we are aware of any learning support needs, your Personal Tutor and Module Tutors (where applicable) will be notified so that they can support you during your studies. The information provided will be treated in confidence and used only for the purpose of providing the appropriate support to your circumstances.
Personal Tutors
Once you are enrolled, you will be assigned a Personal Tutor who will provide you with academic and pastoral support during your studies. Your Personal Tutor will be a permanent member of the academic team as they are the best placed to provide guidance on the modules and assessments you will be taking.
