The Academic Year Structure

The Central Film School academic calendar is divided into three distinct teaching terms. The general structure follows the pattern below.

  • Autumn Term (September to December)
    • Winter Break (December to January)
  • Spring Term (January to April)
    • Spring Break (April to May)
  • Summer Term (May to July)
    • Summer Break (August to September)

For those on their final year of study, you will be required to submit your final assessment in the first week of September after the Summer Term. The period from July to September is often used to research and put the finishing touches on your final major project.

Bank Holidays and Scheduled Closures

The school is closed on all UK bank holidays. In addition, the campus closes completely for a two week period over the winter festive season. There are no classes during these times, and student access to the building and the Kit Room is suspended.
