Central Film School takes pride in its extensive network of partnerships with prominent companies within the UK and international screen industries.

We are committed to providing our students every opportunity possible to speak directly with filmmakers of all kinds to learn about their journeys to becoming successful professionals in their chosen field.

Professional Perspectives

We organise a series of events throughout the year where screen professionals join us on campus to tell their stories.

A key component of our mission is providing students with every opportunity possible to speak directly with screen professionals in a range of production and performance roles and learn about their journeys to becoming successful professionals in their chosen fields.

The Professional Perspectives series forms part of our suite of extra-curricular activities. Events have ranged from conversations with Jason Flemyng, Actor in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Boiling Point, to a visit to The Guardian Media headquarters to learn about factual film from Charlie Phillips, Guardian Head of Documentary.

Life Skills Sessions

These sessions focus on enhancing your practical skills for both in and outside of the filmmaking world. Here you can pick up tips on things like:

  • Finding freelance work in the screen industry
  • Getting to grips with the film festival circuit
  • Keeping an environmentally friendly and sustainable film set
  • Basic first aid training
  • Understanding renting rooms and property in London
  • How to manage stress/depression whilst studying

Mechanics of creativity crew

Target 3D

This year, our collaboration with Target 3D has culminated in The Mechanics of Creativity, an upcoming GenB TV original film and an inspiring testament to community-driven filmmaking. Co-written by our very own BA (Hons) Screenwriting student, Pebbles Gray, and starring BA (Hons) Acting for Screen student Alexandra Scheidt, this project exemplifies our commitment to nurturing the next generation of filmmakers.

We are proud to partner with the world-renowned Juilliard School on Scoring the Story, where our filmmaking students collaborate with Juilliard composers to create original scores for their 16mm films. This unique initiative provides real-world, cross-disciplinary experience, helping students refine their creative voice and expand their professional network.

Pitching Party

We believe collaboration is at the heart of great storytelling. That’s why we regularly partner with other specialist institutions, such as Point Blank Music School and Fashion Retail Academy, to host Pitching Parties - engaging, supportive events where students share film projects with peers from across the creative industries. These sessions offer a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, spark new connections, and gain fresh perspectives.

Collaborating with partners in filmmaking and education

Central Film School has relationships with many major companies in the UK and international film industry. In addition to meeting industry professionals on a daily basis, students at the School are part of a wider network, connected to the Curzon Cinema chain and a range of production funds.

The school focuses on training students in fiction-based filmmaking, but we also recognise the need for our students to engage with social, cultural, economic and political issues. We are very proud of our connection with the Bertha Foundation, which leads the way in supporting new voices in filmmaking through it’s philanthropic work.
